WHIRLPOOL THERAPY
Whirlpool therapy is as beneficial to canine patients as it is for humans. Our therapists gently lower dogs into the whirlpool tub using a harness. Patients are supported during the treatment by the buoyancy of the water. The relaxing and soothing effects can be easily observed in some dogs.
The water temperature is maintained at 94 degrees for maximum physiologic effect. The jets add an additional benefit of gentle massage. Our whirlpool is specifically designed for canine use. Household whirlpools may not be suitable due to their size and shape. A veterinarian should be consulted whenever whirlpool therapy is considered as part of rehabilitation.
Our whirlpool includes a therapeutic electrical stimulation feature. This high tech therapy can offer significant pain relief. Metal strips built in the sides of the whirlpool allow this effect to be enjoyed throughout the entire submerged portion of the body. The stimulation is specifically administered at interferential frequencies. The sensation is subtle and is experienced as a slight tingle.
